Wallpaper On The Ceilings

Adding wallpaper to the ceiling is not necessarily a new design trend, however the way that prints and patterns have been designed lately are absolutely gorgeous. We’ve got our eye on styles of wallpaper that are pure interior design brilliance.

Tiny Prints

We found so many inspiring prints and rooms on the Chris Loves Julia blog.

The mood of this little girls room became clear to the designer, Julia, once she saw the Farrow and Ball “Brock Hampton Star” wallpaper. “I could envision it in her room so clearly. It has a beautiful cream background with gold metallic stamped on it.”

We love the dainty pattern with the rich purple color by Sherwin Williams, Expressive Plum.

Keeping with the tiny star-like prints, this Schumacher print is a favorite of ours. Schumacher explains the print as a “celestial twist on a familiar pattern, featuring neat offset rows of charmingly small six-pointed stars that make a classic, delicate backdrop for any room.”

Striped

Ever thought about taking a creative design risk in your closet? Wallpaper is used throughout the master bedroom seen below, but the black and white bold wallpaper really stands out here in this closet by Erin Kestenabum.

She explains the space, “since this room is such a jewel box, and a space that you literally pass right through, I wanted to utilize every possible surface to create a heightened experience, and the ceiling felt like the perfect place for a wallpaper moment. Here, I added an aptly named Closet Stripe wallpaper in black and white, and since the paper is made by dragging paint along the surface, the gradiation in the stripes is so stunning.”

Tour the rest of this room here.

Water colors

The balance between soft water color and floral patterns often can’t be beat. These beautiful water color wallpapers offer a bold statement without being overpowering.

A classic plaid wallpaper adds plenty of interest to this entry way found in Southern Living Magazine. The wallpaper was added just below the ceiling trim.
